Clouds, oceans, and ecologies

Published: Thu, 02/10/11

Hello, , from NHERI.

I made it all the way through, with a lot of work, some agreement, and a lot of disbelief. The academic writes of clouds, oceans, ecologies, braids, takeaways, and big ideas. [note 1] In her article, professor Carol Lee clearly strives to integrate thought and research on culture and biology, "adaptation through multiple pathways," and "interdependence across levels of context." She does so, implicitly, to understand and ultimately aid the "Yetus" of America.

Yetu is a high-school student, black, and "an exceptionally bright young man." He was the father of twins by the time he was a sophomore, and by the time he was a junior, he was kicked out of school on suspicion he was selling drugs. He is, allegedly, the victim of racist systems in America and subject to many difficult pressures and challenges while supported by only a limited number of "safety nets."

But professor Lee's investigation of Yetu's environment, his biology, epigenetics, "human dispositions," evolutionary history, and "adaptation through risk-resiliency models" will not, in the long-run, help Yetu or any other young man who resides in similar niches in modern America. Not 60 years of research and trying to understand young men like him has saved "Yetu's" group (whatever, just exactly, that is) or any other group like his via the state-run institution called public school.

Only a full recognition of the nature of mankind based on an accurate paradigm, or worldview, will ultimately aid the Yetus of the United States and other nations. Only a valid set of truth propositions will work, and only research that is conducted and applied from that basis will "save Yetu." Modern sociobiology, evolutionary theory, government "safety nets," state-approved teachers in a state-run education system, and professors with faulty worldviews cannot ultimately rescue Yetu and his kin, in the long run. The past 60 years of state-run public schooling suggests my claim is accurate.

Men and women procreating in God-ordained relationships, men both biologically and spiritually fathering and discipling their sons and daughters, institutions like the local church teaching, challenging, and supporting families, and the state not rewarding ungodly or anti-biblical behavior are the kinds of things that will help Yetu and millions of other children and youth to have far-different lives on earth. And only a saving knowledge of the King of kings and His grace will ultimately rescue Yetu. But Yet needs to hear the good news.

Research suggests that homeschool parents have a much better opportunity to tell the good news to their children on a daily basis, and to allow their children see them, the parents, live out a victorious life based on that good news.
